About Sherry...

Sherry Loveless is an interdisciplinary scholar whose academic research focuses on anthrozoology, feline and equine behavior, animal ethics and welfare in research, sport, and public life, and human responsibility in these areas. She is affiliated with the Animal Behavior and Conservation Program of Hunter College of the City University of New York, NY. Her experience as a professional trainer of classical dressage horses provided a “hands-on” education in a “living laboratory” that afforded insights to animal (and human) behavior, and the importance of science and ethics to inform guidelines, policies and laws to insure animal safety and well-being.

Her current professional work includes book and journal design and publishing toward the dissemination of information for informing policy and the public. As a freelance production director, editor, graphic artist, and publishing consultant, she provides a focused range of print and digital design, editorial, publication, and promotional products and services. Prior contracts have afforded considerable experience with international and inter-disciplinary academic specialties.

She is Managing Editor of the BioMedCentral journal Philosophy, Ethics, and Humanities in Medicine, and former Managing Editor and Director of Production of the multi-disciplinary journal Synesis: A Journal of Science, Technology, Ethics, and Policy. As design and publishing consultant to the Potomac Institute Press, her projects include books, journals, reports, brochures, newsletters, and marketing materials.
